Aquila to host public meeting on Senate Bill 100 regarding Renewable Energy
Aquila has scheduled a public meeting to discuss Senate Bill 100. Senate Bill 100 is intended to ensure the adequacy of Colorado’s electric transmission infrastructure requiring utilities to designate energy resource zones to encourage the installation of renewables and authorizing cost recovery from electric utility customers. We are seeking input from all parties interested in installing renewable generation that requires or may require transmission service in or around our service territory.

Press Release: On Feb. 7, 2007, Aquila, Great Plains Energy Inc. and Black Hills Corp. announced two transactions that contemplate acquisition of Aquila utility operations. Great Plains Energy Incorporated, the holding company of Kansas City Power & Light Company, plans to acquire Aquila's Missouri electric utility operations (MPS and L&P). Additionally, Black Hills Corporation, parent company of Black Hills Power, plans to acquire Aquila's Colorado electric utility operations (WPC) and Aquila's Colorado, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska natural gas utilities.
