5/29/09: On June 2, 2009, the rating on the Mead-Perkins-Westwing 500kV Transmission Line will be increased from 1300 MW to 1923 MW in both directions. The rating increase is due to upgrades to the Mead-Perkins series capacitors as well as the permanent bypass of the Perkins phase shifters. Participants of this line will appropriately adjust their individual TTC values no later than May 29, 2009 to become effective on June 1, 2009.

5/18/09: The Glen Canyon/Pinnacle Peak path will be derated to 1200 TTC from 5/18/2009 thru 12/31/2011.

6/13/08: Western appreciates all the participation we received in considering the Operation Consolidation proposals. We are committed to continue working with our customers and other industry partners as we move forward. Through careful consideration of customer comments and the extensive research and analysis by Western's staff, we have chosen Option C (consolidated operations with the Rocky Mountain and Desert Southwest regions serving as alternative control centers for each other.) We will continue to work with customers to keep them a part of the process. Although there are still unanswered questions and details, by moving forward with Option C, Western will maximize its resources and staff to better serve our customers. Comments from the April 24 customer meeting are posted on the Operations Consolidation page. A link has provided on our OASIS home page under Documents, titled "June 13 Consolidtion Answers to Customer Comments" 5/28/08: The 2008 Joint Planning Agreement Annual Planning Meeting will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Western Area Power Administration's DSW Regional Office located at 615 South 43rd Avenue, Phoenix, AZ, 85009, in Conference Rooms 1, 2 & 3. 4/11/08 New UPDATED MESSAGEON ON OPERATIONS CONSOLIDATION PROJECT. Please see Folder CUSTOMER MEETING.

3/20/08 The request for a Shiprock-Four Corners 345-kV outage. The requested continuous outage dates are from 21 April 2008 through the 9th of May 2008; meaning the line will be out of service the entire time frame mentioned above. The work involves replacing a damaged steel structure just outside of Shiprock substation

3/7/08 On 3/6/2008 Western's Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) reviewed information posted on Western's internal Project Management website and found that Western’s Project Management group was archiving brief transmission facility development progress updates and related reports on the sites. The information is intended to used by Western’s Project Management community to meet information sharing and Department of Energy reporting requirements for formally designated projects; however access to the sites was not restricted within Western. Western’s CCO determined that access to the information should be limited pursuant to § 5 (a) of Western's SOC. Western’s CCO does not believe there have been any prohibited disclosures to Merchant employees. Western has disabled links to the information. Corrective action will be taken before access is restored

2/26/08As a result of customer input, Western has adjusted the time line for Operations Consolidation comments and questions to the following dates: Customers submit questions to Western by March 16th Western provides answers by April 11th Next customer meeting is set for April 24th in Denver

12/3/2007:On several occasions earlier in 2007, the CRSP Transmission Business Unit (TBU) had conversations with the CRSP Merchant Energy Management and Marketing Office (EMMO)concerning the transmission system service reservations on the CRSP transmission system for the EMMO to satisfy its statutory requirements to (1) deliver Firm Electric Service to Federal hydropower customers and (2) market excess Federal hydropower, when such power is available. At the time of these conversations, the TBU did not make any postings to the OASIS. Western's Chief Compliance Officer has since determined that transmission information was improperly disclosed to CRSP Merchant employees pursuant to Western's Standards of Conduct (reference § 5 (b)(3)). Western will ensure that in the future, this type of information will only be shared pursuant to § 5 (b)(1). CRSP TBU

11/30/2007:On Thursday, november 29, 2007 the Colorado River Storage Project (CRSP) Transmission Business Unit (TBU), which is the Transmission Function for CRSP, met with the CRSP Energy Management Marketing Office (EMMO), the Merchant Function for CRSP. Also involved in the meeting were the CRSP Manager, CRSP Legal Counsel and several members of the CRSP Contracts and Rates Staff. The topic of discussion at the meeting was the need for the reservation of additional transmission capacity on the CRSP transmission system in order for the EMMO to satisfy its statutory requirements to (1) deliver Firm Electric Service to Federal hydropower customers and (2) market excess Federal hydropower, when such power is available. The end result of the meeting is that additional firm transmission service needs to be reserved for the EMMO to satisfy its statutory obligations. These amounts of transmission service, from various Points of Receipt (POR) to Points of Delivery (POD), will be documented in a contractual agreement within the next 30 days. CRSP TBU

11/05/2007: On November 1, 2007, Western Area Power Administration (Western) filed a revision to its Open Access Transmission Tariff (Tariff) with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Specifically, Western is modifying the Section 7 billing and payment provisions in its Tariff to create the flexibility to require Transmission Customers to pay for transmission service in advance. However, advance payment will only be required if it is included in a rate schedule adopted in a public process. Western requested that FERC deem this modification effective as of December 1, 2007. The FERC generated PDF document for this informational filing is as follows: WAPA Tariff Revision NJ08-1-000, November 1, 2007. If you have any questions, please contact John Steward at (602) 605-2774.

9/13: Due to the substantial changes to the Pro-Forma OATT made by Order 890, Western Area Power Administration will need to engage in a public process with its customers and the general public prior to making an Order 890 filing. Western will make a future filing to address the changes necessary as a result of Order 890. However, in the interim Western will continue to work with the industry and complying with the spirit and intent of Order 890 when feasible.

7/8: For security purposes WALC now requires a confidential agreement for Transmission maps. To start the process of obtaining a transmission map please contact Bernadette Fox at 602-605-2519
