10/01/2012: Pursuant to Desert Southwest Region's Ancillary Service Rate Schedules DSW-EI3 and DSW-GI1, this is notification that beginning October 1, 2012, Western Area Power Lower Colorado Balancing Authority will use the weighted average of the Daily Firm & Non-Firm Dow Jones Palo Verde Index for financial settlement of On-Peak and Off-Peak Energy & Generator Imbalances.

03/02/2011: OATT Revision Filed with FERC, Effective Date of April 3, 2011 (Revised Section 2.2 effective March 2, 2011): Western Area Power Administration submitted revisions to its non-jurisdictional Open Access Transmission Tariff in compliance with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (Commission) Order dated December 2, 2010. This compliance filing ( Filing Letter for revised OATT (March 2, 2011) ) revises the new baseline eTariff, which is substantially the same tariff originally submitted in Docket No. NJ10-1-000. Western requested the Commission deem the revisions to its OATT proposed in the compliance filing become effective April 3, 2011, with the exception of the revisions to Section 2.2, which Western requested become effective on March 2, 2011. 10/01/10: Western filed comments on FERC's "Transmission Planning & Cost Allocation" NOPR
Western submitted the following comments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on its Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for Transmission Planning and Cost Allocation by Transmission Owning and Operating Public Utilities (NOPR) issued on June 17, 2010 in Docket No. RM10-23-000. Western's comments were submitted on September 29, 2010, as a Federal Power Marketing Administration (PMA), and not on behalf of the Department of Energy as a whole: Western-RM10-23-NOPR-Response.pdf
8/04/10: Western Area Power Administration intends to file comments in the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking: Transmission Planning and Cost Allocation By Transmission Owning and Operating Public Utilities (NOPR) that was released June 17, 2010 in Docket No. RM10-23. In that NOPR, the Commission is proposing to amend the transmission planning and cost allocation requirements for public utility providers established in Order 890.
Given the unique nature of this particular NOPR, Western will hold an informal meeting on August 5, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. MDT at our Corporate Services Office at 12155 W. Alameda Parkway in Lakewood, Colorado, in the Conference Center. Customers will have an opportunity to comment on the technical areas of the NOPR Western will address in its comments. The meeting should conclude by 12:00 p.m. Western will provide a conference number for individuals who are unable to attend in person. Additional information will be provided electronically prior to the meeting on Aug. 5 regarding items for discussion.
