This page contains a summary description with dates, and programs used of all transmission studies used to prepare data for the Primary Provider's ATC and TTC calculation along with information as to how to obtain the study data and results. It also contains a list of Network & Firm Reservations Studies and the Generation Study Queue.

Description:

ATC and TTC results are computed using power flow analysis tools. The ATCs computed honor thermal limits, contract limits, voltage limits, and test levels performed in the VAST Studies. On & Off Peak ATC calculations use the expected peak load for a given period. The effect of each transmission reservation on ATC is calculated based on the given source and sink. Sources and sinks are grouped on a control area basis.

The above assumptions may change in the future if the calculated ATCs do not accurately reflect our operating experience. More detailed modeling may be required for specific transmission requests.

Network and Firm Reservation Studies:

The most recent changes are shown in Red.

The Duke Energy Carolinas Independent Entity (Midwest ISO) will process all Generator Interconnection requests and Network and Frim Reservation studies on Nov 1, 2006. All such requests on or after Nov 1, 2006 will be the responsibility of the Independent Entity.

The monthly transmission transfer capability information posted is based on Seasonal VAST OASIS Study results. These studies will be used as a starting point in calculating Duke's ATC values to model known outages of generation and transmission elements deemed to have a significant impact on transmission transfer capability.
